Have a go at the Locrian mode. It's one of the weirdest modes out there and, with a minor second and a flattened fifth, has some seriously harsh intervals.
It can only be made to sound pretty by jazz musicians who are steeped in harmonic theory and know exactly when to deploy it. Otherwise, it sounds evil. Enjoy.
I don't know a lot about guitar. But have you ever heard the band PsyOpus? That guitarist is fast as hell! And the guitars sound quite evil or obnoxious. Very good band.
Look up songs by Steve Morse like Tumeni Notes, he mainly only uses scales.
