Kool and the Gang "Celebration" is a good, obvious choice.
i was a dj for 10 years and i fount the best thing to do is at the start of the evening play a selection of different music motown /rock & roll / 70s / rock etc and look around the room and look at the peoples reaction to each type of music that way you know what the people like and the dance floor is packed all night
