Led Zep - Weren't they actually 'a bit bobbins'?!
Question: Why does everybody rave about Led Zep? Yes, they were very influential - but unfortunately the bands they influenced were all rubbish too. Unless anyone one else thinks screechy vocals, power chords and endless virtuoso guitar solos are what makes a great band?

I'm with you, Phil! I have never drunk the Kool Aid on this band. They embody all that is easily parodied about rock bands and culture. I was 16 when 'Whole Lotta Love' came out and I heard albums 1 thru 4 so many times, I got burned out on them. The bands they influenced were so bad, I gave up on rock music in the 70s and started listening to jazz, blues and fusion. So, I suppose in a strange way, I should thank LZ for turning me to better music!
They were the first to do "Heavy Metal" music. This is why so many bands name Zep as being influential.
I think they are great and have everything they have done.
