Question: I always hear people driving by me with that dam crap on now i may be only 19 but this stuff really sucks, why is it people really like it i don't understand it.

Man, I agree but some hip-hop/rap is the sh##. You should listen to some real hip-hop artists like Immortal Technique, TuPac, Akir, Biggie, Nas, and others. There's a good message if you know to listen to the right artists. All that crap like Soulja Boy and Hurricane Chris are just killing hip-hop.

rap isnt all that bad... there are rare occasions whare there is a good rap song but lately everything coming out now is trash.. and there is absolutely no need to drive through neighborhoods with the bass and volume full blast..

People hate what they can't understand. You just said that you don't like when people say rock is just "roar, roar" but that's what you just said about rap. That's hypocrisy.
Okay since you aren't as hostile as the rest of your breed, I'll break it down for you...
Right now, it's safe to say there's 2 separate groups in rap music.
We have the one's who are basically robots and sheep. These "robots" turn on their damn MTV and radios and think 'Hey that's catchy' but that's all they go for... a catchy no brainer song with a good instrumental.
They don't really care about lyrics and message. They usually only listen to the music because of their friends. They usually they want a lot of bass in their songs.(Although there's nothing initially wrong with bass)
Then we have the other group of rap fans who go for a nice instrumental, some good lyrics, and possibly a good message in their song. Their interest usually lies beyond what the TV feeds them. They may have been listening to rap for years.
They actively search out for new songs instead of using the radio(and other mass media forms) to get their 'hip-hop fix'. Good rhymes with relevant topics are usually necessary for these fans.
People like rap because no where else in music can you find people who can put out this quality of rhymes.

if you dont like rap then you can get out of this section and quit hating on those of us thath love rap.
the one thing all music has in common is rhythm. What kind of noise you listen to with that rhythm is based on the music of your environment growing up, or the music that is socially accepted within the group you associate yourself with just like clothes or shoes.

You are listening to the wrong stuff. On the Radio or TV the only thing they play is 50 Cent, Lil Wayne or Soulja Boy. You should try listening to some Big Daddy Kane, Eric B. & Rakim or Slick Rick. The reason we blast music in our car with big sub woofers and flashing lights is because its called being a fun person, and people who listen to rap are not the only people that blast music in their car. Everyone listens to different music and if you don't like any of the rappers i mentioned such as Rakim then i guess rap is not your music. We don't care if you insult rap at all, you are just wasting your time and your points. we are still gonna listen to rap music no matter what.
