I don't know what Muse completely sounds like, so I'll name a few bands I like and see if you like them.

none of the bands the first guy mentioned are similar to muse at all.:(
radiohead is the only one i can really think of. they came first. they're more experimental. i love muse and radiohead.
i guess also Keane, they are a more mellow, less complex version.
muse have a sound all of their own. much like rage against the machine does. they are a super group. early radiohead springs to mind. (really technical alternative)
The only difference between Muse and the bands the first guy mentioned is that Muse is awesome and those bands suck. I'll agree w/ Radiohead and also add Avenged Sevenfold. A7X isn't as experimental, but they have a somewhat similar sound and are also great.

7. The Mars Volta
8. Thom Yorke
9. Arctic Monkeys
10. Liars
some would disagree with some of these but I suggest just checking them out, maybe you know them already maybe you don't. I promise you'll find something you like.
