This is all because the writers' were on strike. If we had the writer's they would have made it clear that Tina is the queen of rock and roll. But Beyonce made an honest mistake. Actually it wasnt really a mistake. Tina is a queen in her own right. The real deal is whether or not it is true that Aretha was really upset about it. You know how rumors are. She may not have even been peeved about it. I mean she didnt make herself the queen. And it wouldnt be cute if she got all diva on us by getting upset to begin with. Aretha is the queen of soul everyone knows that. But Beyonce doesnt make soul music. She is a pop artist. And she took her sound to Tina's level with her last cd. So she was paying it back so to speak.

I heard that Beyonce' called Tina Turner the "Queen of Soul"and Aretha took exception to it. As anyone with any knowledge of musical history knows, Elvis is the King, Aretha is the Queen of Soul, and James Brown is the King of Soul. James is also noted as the Godfather of Soul. Beyonce' needs a clue.

Beyonce is an overated singer. Aretha is great!!!!!

Beyonce' did not specify a genre she just said The Queen.

didnt see it but I gather that the refernece was to call Tina "The Queen" thing is there are many kings and queen if music is to put its cards on the table...

here goes:-

Aretha = Queen of Soul
Tina = Queen of Rock and Roll
Elvis = The king of rock
James Brown =The King of Soul
Bob Marley =King of Reggae
Marcia Griffets = Queen of Reggae
Reba McEntire = Queen of Country
George Strait = King of Country
Micheal Jackson = King of Pop
Madonna = Queen of Pop
Dennise Brown Crowned =Prince of Reggae
Ghost = Duppy of the dance hall

I blame Tinas Publicist for sitting down on her crown and not hyping it that the world would better infer which Queen... and I also blame
Beyonce = Queen of Cluelessness :) dubbed by me!
Grammy Writers = The Royaly unemployed or rebellious writers on strike!

You know if they used a HCI specialist to judge user /consumer expereiences they would be much better off!

Beyonce name dropped Aretha Franklin's name and other ladies of old school r&b and said that their was one person embodied all these people or something to that effect, then she introduced Tina as the "queen". I hate to hear Beyonce talk because stupid crap come out. It's like she whatever pops up in the empty dome.
