I'd hazard to guess that you listen to commercial radio and watch MTV. If you dig a little deeper, each genre has high quality stuff along with a ton of crap.

I love Gospel R&B, Blues, and Jazz. Im not a big fan of rock & roll or rap but I can tolerate it. Hate is such a strong word.
BTW Metal and Rock originated from gospel which spawned the blues wich gave birth to rock then came heavy metal.

i wouldnt say it sucks, but it used to be alot better in the mid and late 90's.. i still listen to it, better than other music these days

alot of modern rock has hiphop in it
linkin park limp bizkit korn etc they all have rhymes and are in the style of hiphop and rap
i am not saying that rock never had any ryhmes before but the style of modern rock and metal lyricaly is identical to rap and hiphop except for the words of choice
also i think that u cannot hate rap cause if u listen to rock they are talkin about losing some one or hating some killing some one thier struggles

That is because your a narcissist. Every song is not about your experiences, some songs are about other people's kind of experience. You like metal Rock and Eminem because they are about YOUR world and experiences, I like almost all types of music because I am interested in many types of experience. If you like Eminem but don't like rappers like Common, Talib Kweli, Lupe Fiasco and Nas I would say this is precisely why. However if your just talking about garbage like 50 Cent, then you are right not to like them. That isn't real art, it's commerical crap. However in your question you said "Hip Hop" in general, not just "some Hip Hop."
