What are some new bands that i can listen to?!

Firstly, listen to some of Morrissey's older stuff. IMO it's way better than his new stuff - especially when he was with The Smiths. I even named my cat Morrissey!! LOL!
If you're going for influential bands of the 80s, also check out the Pixies. Songs like Debaser are brilliant. My other cat is named Pixies! The Cure are brilliant too.
Modern day bands - get off the beaten track and try some less-well known indie bands like:
Vampire Weekend
The Envy Corps
Interpol
We Are Scientists (although pretty well known)
(We Are) Performance
