Have you ever bought a cd and regreted after you heard it and thought what is th!

Question: So I bought 30 seconds to mars- a beautiful lie. Yesterday and I have to say what a disappointment. I want my money back! How these people are still around has dumbfounded me. I bought it cus everyone was recommending them to me. And I figured okay their singles aren’t too bad. But that’s what they made they made like 4 good singles. The rest sucks. There’s a song that’s about 5 lines (repeated) and each line is like 4 words long. No talent. I could have written that. A lot of the beats are the same. Oh and they RIPPED OFF a beat. How dare they!!! If you heard Adams song by Blink 182 and their R-evolve the beats are exactly the same. Its like wow. I lost respect for them right there. And the rest of the lyrics are just pathetic. I can’t believe how people are actually fans of this band. They only good thing I can give them is that Jared Leto has a good voice. But everything else is a disgrace to music. It disgusts me. Urghh. Is this what, rock music is now. All commercial Cus this is what I call a commercial band. This is a band that is selling cus of looks and popularity and not music. Sorry if I offended any of their fans but come on guys really listen to them and ignore the fact that jared leto is hot. I think Fall Out Boy is better at least fall out boy writes crappy lyrics but they write lyrics and their beats are good. 30stm is a no talent band to me. See before at least I respected them and thought they were okay but now that I bought the cd and listened to each song. wow. Horrible. I will never see them the same again. How are they winning awards!
Sorry I turned this more into a rant. Lol hehehehe.
Umm your experience?

I don't think there's one single person here who couldn't claim the exact same experience. As much as I love buying CD's as opposed to individual tracks, the one downside to the gambler's mentality is getting fooled by an album that sucks except for the one or two tracks you originally purchased it for. The most recent example of this for me was when I bought the last CD from local legends Kill Hannah. I really liked the first single Lips Like Morphine. The rest of the album was soft and boring by comparison, proving once again that sometimes the industry can pick the right singles to play on the radio.

The great thing about making CD mistakes in this day and age is the ease to which you can sell them back on Ebay or Amazon.

i love alcia keys and i tought her new album, As I Am, would be awesome, but it sucks! it was a bunch of sad love songs and frankly i don't wanna hear something depressing like that!

It's been a long time since I bought an album without hearing it first, and I buy a lot of albums.

I have 30 STM's album and I love it. Okay, first time I heard it I felt disappointed too, but after a couple more of listens it grew on me. Maybe you'll like it better after a few more listens, who knows. But I didn't like Hunter very much. It was weird-sounding and didn't sound rock at all.

Yeah, I bought Fergie's album last year and I wish I didn't. The songs are okay, but really not my kind of music, I only really liked London Bridge. Even so, the swearing was too much for the ears.

love u.

Yeah, it's happened a few times. That's why i pirate, no risk whatsoever, if i like a band/CD A LOT I'll go and buy their stuff, but if they're **** i haven't wasted my money.

Many times. Impulsive buyer.

That's not too good. Yeah most songs are basically 5 lines that keep getting repeated over and over. They just give awards to any crappy song. In my opinion, it'sn to increase the popularity of the Grammy award or whatever. If they were to give a Grammy award to 1 in every 100 songs, it wouldn't be that popular, or would it? Just like books. Every book I see these days has a #1 New York Times award. What the hell?! Anyways, that's the main reason why I don't buy CD's. I listen to the song on youtube, and if I like it I download it from Limewire. That way I don't lose anything if the songs I download aren't nice.

Hope I helped!

i bought a fall out boy album and it was the most unbearable noises i had ever heard

they suck ***

I used to find myself having that experience whenever I bought a *new* rock CD. I figured I'd give it a shot because come on, how could it ALL be bad. Well I would put in the newly bought cd and and say to myself "wtf is this?" Out the window of my car they would go. I can't tell you how many cd's have become flying frisbees.

I eventually just learned that I am not going to find good new music and to just get used to it. Problem solved on my end. Now the music industry, that is another story...

I got the new Rilo Kiley CD "Under The Blacklight" I've only heard parts of it before but I love Rilo Kiley so I bought it without even thinking. I was a little dissapointed because I prefer their older stuff but it has grown on me :]

yess, ricky martins album, it was called "life" i think, oh & Nelly furtado (is that her name?)'s album only a few songs are good.

This is a rare occurence, as I usually listen to CDs before buying them, but it does happen occasionally with bands whose previous CDs I liked.
Avenged Sevenfold's new CD was one. I love their older stuff, so I assumed the new one would be good. Boy, was I wrong! I was so pissed off at the band for recording such a shite album, I sold it back within 2 hours.
Strapping Young Lad is another. Again, I dig their older stuff, so I assumed I'd like the latest, "The New Black." It was so bad, I'd rather scrape my gums with a rusty screwdriver than have to hear it again! It's one of those albums that's such an unintelligible mess that it appears as if it's simply a big F-You to the fans.

Sorry you had to find out in such a money loss sort of way.
I bought Finch's "Say Hello To Sunshine". It was pretty terrible. The single was alright, and they had maybe 2 other good songs.

Sorry that you had that experience...at least you will know for the future, I guess. Something that I often do is borrow a new CD from the library before I buy it. That way I can get a good impression of what I do and don't like about it. If there is only one song that I actually like, I generally skip the album as a whole, and buy that ONE song I do like off iTunes.

Angels & Airwaves.

absolute garbage. I can't believe people paid to produce it.

I guess you would say I was a little irritated that the Honkin' On Bobo CD by Aerosmith was not your traditional Aerosmith music. It is mostly blues I would say. So I felt I got a little ripped. I kept it though because I have everything they ever did.

i got this stellar kart cd and it sucks hxc. we cant stand sitting down. thats the name.

The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus CD disappointed me. I really liked the singles they released on MTV so i bought the CD and it was the worst money i have ever spent.

Yes. Good Charlotte's The Chronicles of Life and Death. It was such a big ******* waste!! I really want my money back.. I mean, they're older stuff was way better and I kinda liked their music but boy was I duped. I think they've become better with Good Morning Revival but TCLD was bogus. Totally not good and a waste of money! The only good songs were I Just Wanna Live and We Believe. Everything else was just bullshit! Sorry GC fans, but it's oh so true!

I think your experience happens to the best of us. The worst is when you absolutely love the band and expect their new album to be better than their last and you've hyped it up in your mind as being an album that is going to rock your world. That happened with me and Saves The Day's album In Reverie. I was angry that it wasn't a cohesive album and I was angry that they kept making references to monkeys or chimps in their lyrics, it was just a huge disappointment.

Experience: none. Just know this: most new Rock S-U-C-K-S, sucks!
