For a Blues progression of E A G, what Key is this in? and whats the scale which!

Question: You could call it E. Minor pentatonic E would be good, EGABD, you could add a Bb as a blue note... A mixolydian would work too... ABC#DEF#G, but go from E to E... really you should just use your ears... it may take a little more work but should open your playing to more possibilities in a short while... not instantaneous gratification but fast in terms of progressing... believe in yourself.

it is in the key of E and the scale depends on what you like.
usualy it s a major or pentitonic some times minor.
all those will work over and e chord

Definatley E blues with all of your "blue notes" falling in the G harmony.

Not such a good key for major scale passages, so stick with minor, blues, dorian, and if you're 'out there' try some phrygian.
