It's strange how Freddie's tragedy inspired so many beautiful songs. This song was written by the drummer, Roger Taylor. The same person who wrote "Radio Ga Ga". The song is hauntingly beautiful and just stirs up urges of longing inside. There are actually two different videos for the song, one of which features some Disney animation. I prefer the video of the band. Besides the sheer poetry of the lyrics, the instruments are meshed together perfectly. Brian May's guitar in this song does bring tears to my eyes. It's just amazing! The significance of this video is that it was the last video that Freddie performed in before he died. It was made in black and white to hide just how ravished by the disease he had become. Brian said that even though Freddie was very sick and in obvious pain, he could make the most amazing sounds come out of his mouth. The video was made in May and Freddie died in November. He had a cut on his foot and couldn't wear shoes and he was in so much pain he could hardly stand. That is the kind of showman Freddie was. That is why he will always be remembered as the best! That is why you cried...why everyone who has heard this song has cried.

oh wow. lol. i haven't heard of this song before (which is weird because my mom listens to him all the time) but i know how you feel. i heard this song once by the Jackson 5 called " i wanna be wear you are" and i was crying for at 2 minutes straight! this was a long time ago, though. and now that i look back at it i realize that the song probably isn't as sad as i thought it was when i first heard it. i guess it was just that time of the month for me ; )

Queen happens to be my favorite band of all time,
and when I was in my "learning everything in the world about Queen" phase, I kept hearing about the video for These Are The Days Of Our Lives, so eventually I checked it out,
Oh my god, I have never seen a video that upsets me as much as that one. I just broke down and started crying when I watched it. And then that last time when Freddie looks at the camera and whispers "I still love you", that just stuck in my memory and it always brings tears to my eyes.
Now, I know the whole story behind the video, you know, like they shot it in B&W so nobody could see how pale Freddie was, and he was wearing baggy clothes so people couldn't see how thin he was, and how he was in too much pain to move his lower body, all that, it just makes it worse.
I can't even watch that video anymore,
it makes me so depressed and I just start crying.
