That Michael Jackson hit from the 80's, "Beat it"?!

Question: What was the whole meaning of that song anyway? I mean it had a neat melody to it. But if you listen to all the words in the song, what is he beating anyway?

You really got me thinking HARD here.

Beat it, Musicman! *lmao*

he's beating 'it'. lets hope its just himself and not some poor childs....

maybe Beat It meant to just 'get lost or leave'. It doesn't matter who's wrong or right, just beat it.

"Beat it" means "Go away." Not that the song makes a whole lot of sense knowing that.

I haven't listened to the song in a loooong time (and don't really care to again) but as I recall it was telling someone to "beat it". In other words, scram - get out of hear - get lost - go away or however else you might want to say it.

It means get lost and get away from me.. i love that song.. as for the first answer.. does it always have to be 'nasty;.. its not a bad song...

He's leaving, like "get out of here, beat it." The moral to the song is that it's better to not get involved in fights and that it's better to just "beat it." Michael is very anti-violence and he has made several songs about how to deal with conflict in a non violent way, Beat It was just another one of those songs.

?We Love You MJ?
