Are there any rap songs with deep meaning?!

Question: if so, could you name me some? stuff that isnt about clubs, girls dancing in clubs, girls bodies in any way, alcohol, cops, money, some stupid dance like the soulja boy, crap like that? my friends say some of it is pretty deep, and id like to find some of that. i do admit it has good beats..but seriously.

you need some old skool rap in your life.

Tupac, Biggie, Nas

and you could also go for

Dilated Peoples
Kanye
Lupe Fiasco
Common
Immortal Technique

a lot of artists make them mainstream songs but those are mostly for the radio. they have to have some deeper tracks on thier albums, or they;re not real artists.

Yup, there are more than you think. Try these...

- "Hey Young World" by Slick Rick. Classic song in which
Slick Rick gives advice to the younger generation, kinda like a big brother or more so, a man who's matured and learned from his experiences.

- "Children's Story" by Slick Rick. Another classic that tells the story of a teenage boy who falls into a life of crime.

- "The Message" by Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five. One of the ultimate classics about the struggles of living in poverty.

- "Stakes Is High" by De La Soul. Great beat by the late, great J Dilla (aka - Jay Dee) and great lyrics. Addresses the decline in the quality of hip hop music and culture as well as social ills.

- "Mr. N***a" by Mos Def. A song about racism, touching on various instances of discrimination and injustice.

- "A Song for Assata" by Common feat. Cee Lo. A song about the true story of the wrongful conviction, imprisonment and escape of Assata Shakur.

- "Get By" by Talib Kweli. A song about personal struggle and society's ills.

- "Love's Gonna Get'Cha (Material Love)" by Boogie Down Productions. A song about the dangers and pitfalls of materialism in the form of a story about a boy who gets caught up in the drug game.

And as for the more underground stuff...

- "Blood Is Thicker Than Oil" by Kaze. A song that launches a full-on verbal attack on the Bush Administration and the war in Iraq.

- "Should've Been Here" by Kaze. A personal, heartfelt song dedicated to Kaze's late mother and the child that he lost.

- "The Rain Comes Down" by Jean Grae. A very personal song about the fear, pain and regrets of a young woman who has an abortion.

- "All For You" by Little Brother. A personal song about one emcee meeting the father he never knew and the other emcee trying to be a father to his own children.

There are lots more, but these should do for now.

There are many meaningful hiphop songs...
Listen to:
Blu & Exile- The Narrow Path (album-Below the Heavens)
CunninLynguists- The Gates (album- A Piece of Strange)
Rhymefest- Bullet
Jedi Mind Tricks- Uncommon Valor
The Roots- Clock with No Hands (album- Game Theory)
Pharoahe Monch- When the Gun Draws (album-Desire)
Joe Budden- Three sides to a story & If I Die Tomorrow
Ghostface Killa- All That I Got is You
Lupe Fiasco- Hurt me soul (album- Food & Liquor)

Those are just a few off the top of my head that you should listen to if you are trying to hear meaningful hiphop...i also included the titles of some of the albums the songs are from in case you would want to check out any of them further...my best advice is if you are interested in hearing good hiphop you're not gonna find it on the radio...your best bet is to search for underground hiphop through the internet.

look up 2pac, kanye west, nas, mos def, common.

I'll just name some artists songs take too long to think of.
