I can find only one piano sonata in C minor by Chopin and it is number 1 not number 8

The Beethoven sonata you refer to is the famous Pathetique.

The Pathetique Sonata comes eighth in the edition which I have, so Brian 777 might be right.

Speaking of the Pathetique Sonata, the question right before yours is about the Pathetique Sonata.
Take a look.

Chopin did not write the Pathetique Sonata, Beethoven did. It has been played by 1000s of pianists since good, bad, indifferent and genius. That may have included Chopin - who wrote 3 piano sonatas of his own, but who also had a fairly active life as a concert pianist. I'm sure someone, somewhere has a list of all the concerts he gave with the works played, but whether it is information easily available on the net, I know not and I ain't looking!
