Depends on how many pedals you want to use. You'll need a power supply, and patch cables. You'll also need a cable to connect your guitar to the pedal board and one to connect the pedal board to your amplifier.

Reverb is handy, chorus is handy, I like a bit of tremolo on occasion, a flanger is cool but limited, wah pedals are great but take some getting used too. Compressors are good with distortion for some nice sustain and feedback.

pedals, short cables, the things you use to plug em in. and of course some sort of board. there are kits that you can buy to make pedal boards. they come with all the wiring you need that i mentioned. except for the board. then you go out to buy the pedals! i want a pedal board, but i have no moneh!
Depends what sound you want to make. you might be better of with one multi effects box untill you find your sound and have more idea of what you're looking for.
