When was the first time you heard...?!

Question: J Dilla? The reason I ask this is because today would have been his 34th birthday, and I wanna know how many people actually know and remember Dilla, cuz everyone I know at my HS don't know sh!t about him.

First time I heard him was a couple of years back on Fantastic Vol. 2 album when he was with Slum Village.

And I'm asking this question to people who have actually HEARD his stuff, so if you don't know who he is, don't answer the question.

Ahhww J. Dilla yea man that was one talented man! His instrumental are the sickest...especially the one he did called "Doo Doo"

The first time I actually heard a beat that he made that made me follow after him...listen to him was when I heard the song "Wordplay" that he did for Tribe....I was knocked off my feet....and have been a fan ever since.

Check out this Dj's tribute to him...you will have to scroll down to find the mix...its free so download it!

"Fall in Love" was the song, off of Vol 2 right. That song has to be my favorite out of all the songs SV put out. And then Thelonius.

When Donuts first came out. A friend of mine who's a DJ phoned me going "You've GOT to hear this!" and started playing it down the phone. I went and bought it the next day. It's so sad he won't be making music any more.

RIP J Dilla.

I never heard a single track from him.

Today is the day Big Pun passed away, that's interesting.

I heard "Runnin," and found out he made the beat. After that, I decided to look at what else he produced and found out he did a lot of songs that I like. My Uncle was really into him, so I would always "borrow" all of his Dilla stuff. I got Amplified, when I was like 13 (he produced a lot of tracks on that). That was the first time I "really" got into his productions.

When I heard The Light by Common
