Question about starting a metalcore band...?!

Question: I'm trying to pull it off as a lead singer for this Christian metalcore band I'm trying to put together. I have good qualities of a lead singer, such as a deep, scratchy voice, and complete anger coming out when I'm totally pissed off, but I dont really know how to scream like that in original. Any short way of explaining how to do it?

i sing for a metal band so i guess i scream to.. im a vocalist.... now how to scream properly. first off do not do it the same way you sing cuz you will really tear up your vocal chords. you need to actually scream(or yell) but you need to do so while useing your diphraghm and the most important thing...DO NOT FORCE IT AND IF IT HURTS STOP! there is a better way to do it. also if you kinda push from the muscle right below your bellybutton it will make it come out easier but it kinda makes you feel like you gotta poo. but after you get used to it and get it down the feeling will go away.
one of the biggest things also is to not think about it. ive found that when i am just there and in the moment type deal with my voice it sounds better and just kinda flows out. (guess that goes with what i said before dont force it)

this like anything else takes time and alot of pratice. the first few times you do it you will probably loose your voice but it will fall into place. i mean when i first started i did it by trial and error and probably did a number on my chords. for like 3 months id loose my voice every pratice.
also theres this dvd (the zen of screaming) i got it after i learned how to scream and i found out i figured the right way to do it already but it still had some good tips and stuff. not bad to have especially for the vocal warmups.
if this helps or if you have anymore questions you can email me at

Show ur skillz to some friends. They can tell you exactly what to improve on. I don't kno what u sound like, so I can't precisely judge...

you could think of something that pisses you off, but I would just suggest listening to screamo bands and scream with the music.
