well raps these day most rappers only raps about having money, making money, girls, hookers, fame.. etc,
Back then Tupac biggie, the way the wrote their songs, it sounds like they made it from the heart, no a days it sounds like rappers just spent like max 20min on writing one song, when tupiac probably took more then 20min to get a thoughtful song.
your not listening to the right artist if thats what you think. there are plenty of rappers that are still making good songs.

ight well first, kanye is probably one of the good remaining few. hip hop is wack now because people are getting to caught up with materialism. honestly, the problem is that record labels sign wack artist who make 1 single(soulja boy/lil' mama) and use them to make money(via radio [another problem] and ringtones). the record labels target teens who then get brain washed with this materialism and think that this wackness is real hip hop. the real hip hop is all underground. all unsigned mc's are real hip hop. hip hop isnt dead, it was just buried alived but is still living.
Rap music does not suck, why does everyone want a song to mean something? I dont want to be at the club listening to Common or Nas, i want to hear something i can dance to.
