$600 fender standard v jazz bass. after their guitars i dont trust them...?!
Question: i know fender makes good insturments, but i find with their guitarssometimes price doesnt garuntee quality. i love their basses but would like to know if this fact remains true for all fender products or just guitars. their amplifiers have only ever done well for me. also is this model americanmade, and a quality model?

Fender quality has improved over the past 10 years or so.
A long time ago Gibson was quality and Fender was lousy.
They now are very consitantly good - American made - so I would say that 600 is a fair price for a Jazz Bass.
But still, every Fender guitar is different, you must try it and make your decision. You might fall in love with it or simply walk away unimpressed.
Stick with the american made Fender basses and you should be fine.
