Indie
and sometimes I like pop songs, it depends if they are cheesey or not

Besides listening to metal, I listen to classical music.

I know a lot about music theory and I see a lot of music theory used in metal, especially in older bands like Judas Priest.

I know it sounds like an odd mix, but I listen to classical.

My collection includes healthy doses of each of these:

Blues (Albert King, Buddy Guy, B.B. King, Muddy Waters, etc.)

Jazz (but not that "smooth jazz" crap - just the real stuff along the lines of Miles Davis or John Coltrane)

Classical (as long as it 's a soloist or quartet/quintet, not a huge fan of full orchestral pieces)

I'm even not averse to a little bit of good ol' jug band music...

Rap, Pop, Techno.

I love ethereal goth, shoe gazer, and dream pop. Though the label dream pop threw me a bit, Smashing Pumpkins is considered dream pop!

Classical. I wasn't always a fan of classical music until I started college as a music major (long, looooong time ago). That was where I really got introduced to it and learned that a lot of metal comes from classical music.

I listen to a lot of Country as well. Mostly stuff from the 80s and 90s (Dwight Yoakam, Sawyer Brown, Shenandoah, etc). I'm also a huge fan of Bluegrass, Blues, Jazz, and Lounge music. I listen to that all the time. Classical is very sporadic, but I really enjoy Mozart and Tchaikovsky. I think Gregorian Chant is fascinating as well.
"World Music" is something I just go nutty for. I love the traditional music from China, Persia, India, Arabic, Pygmy (Efe), Indonesia, etc etc etc. I could list on this topic for days.
I suppose, on a final note, I used to listen to more rap. But, I don't own any rap music anymore (which is funny because I've seen several Rap shows live over the last few years).

I love metal,especially dark metal,speed metal,thrash metal,doom metal...I also love classic rock,hard rock,indie rock
But as you said,I also like other genres such as ska,old school punk, some blues, some jazz, even some soul

I listen to a lot more rock than anything else, and I'm not so well versed in much else (I don't really dig too much in other genres), but I've been turned on to some good hip-hop, jazz, and classical music. Some good folk stuff too.

I guess if I was going to pick one that I listen to the most aside from rock it would probably be hip-hop, for instance a couple of acts that I like Mos Def, Jurassic 5, Kool Keith/Dr. Octagon/Dr. Dooom/Black Elvis.
