Question: I'm a big fan of rock and metal music but seriously lately rock music just suckS.
how freakin old are you when you think MCR and the Jonas bitches are rock bands please.
What happened to the good old days of band like Metallica, GNR, Nirvana, soundgarden, peral jam, etc.
there are many i mean many other band i didn't write down.
In these past five years i really havent heard any band that is in the same level as these
REAL ROCK LEGENDS.

you are 100 percent right, mostly crap coming out. you did forget queen though they are one of the greatest, dont know how far back you go. but i love you put gnr in there.
Just depends......Most of it has./..it's definetly not like the old school rock...However some of it is still good.....do they even call it rock anymore?
If you're talking about straight up rock, like what used to be played on the radio, then it is DEAD. You have to look to the underground...
Backyard Babies, Hellacopters, Supersuckers, Hanoi Rocks... I could go on...
ya some of the stuff i hear we could play in a sleepy elevator when i see rock on a cd outside i want rock not lulabye when im driving when im working on a project i want more ratt were not gonna take it not some sober music that sucks i want music that people are really feeling something about a major heart break and there pissed and screaming then i want the concert to be good for the environment and totally recycleable

I agree it seems like you can't get into popular music unless you play keyboard an wear brown corduroy jackets ( "Indy" music or whatever ). Although bands like Wolfmother seem to be trying to bring it back.
Although through my experience with up and coming local bands, it seems like rock is on it's way back. We can only hope!
You need to get out of the house more and stop listening to local networks!
Rock is not main stream anymore so society dosent get to hear as much as we used to!

The mainstream stuff, yes. Most of the mainstream stuff has been shitty anyway. Underground music is still strong, you just have to look for it.

There's quallity music out there you just need to look past the radio and tv to find it.

with bands like paramore and green day, referring to themselves as punk, there is no hope!
I think there are some decent rock band still around and kicking. As for rock, I think Coheed and Cambria is really solid, while there are still some very solid metal bands like Children of Bodom out there.
I totally agree with you.
Mcr and Fall Out Boy and all that crap just piss me off.
Metallica and Iron Maiden just kick the **** outta all those bands.
Green Day have also been one of my all time favorites too..

i'd say rock didn't get shittier, it just took upon another form. of course you can't call mainstream bands like mcr and jonas brothers rock bands. i perfer to call them pop bands. but mcr is more emo alternative. i hate them but i have to say, their guitarist is pretty good, cause he's rock 'n roll/blues inspired. but they still suck. anyways, you have to look harder for good bands these days. thats y i stuck to listening to indie rock, and of course old bands too like soundgarden, gnr ect. and pearl jam still has some good songs out there.
but what pisses me off if how the media and shitty bands like fall out boy influence younge ppl that this is rock. and avril lavign thinks she's punk. and she talks about how ppl hate her and say she ruined punk. but she thinks she's sooo punk. but in reality, she did ruin punk. mtv and much music playing all the commercialized music basicaly ruined mainstream music. even says jack black in school of rock :P
I agree, since the mid 90's rock has gone way off the path it should be on. I miss Megadeth, Stone Temple Pilots, and Soundgarden.
yes but these new forms of rock are pretty good you just dont give them a chance!
i used to be a grunge fan, but not anymore. There is always post-grunge bands like Puddle of Mudd.
i'd have to disagree there are a lot of really good new bands out there you just need to look for them
