Rap is more about lyrics than it is about beats, unless you listen to the crap on the radio. then its about who can be the biggest dumbass, but if you listen to real Hip Hop, its about the lyrics. Rap is a form of poetry

^^I know..the song's not that great..and it isn't the greatest guitar piece..but I think that's because simpler guitar playing is more conductive to hip hop instead of say..David Gilmour..

EDIT: Listened to the video. It was... okay its too repetitive and not my taste. Especially when it was mostly rapping. But I guess thats just me. At least some played their instruments but at a very very standard basic level.
EDIT:Where is the rhythm in those other videos? The pattern is the same thing over and over and over again.

a lot of artists play instruments, most of those who produce know at least keyboards, drums and guitar
