UGH, i am SO tired of people thinking that "indie" is a genre of music.

i'm into rock, mostly, punk, some pop, techno..

edit:
EXACTLY. all indie means is that it's independent, it doesn't define a certain sound. think of some of the more well-known indie bands, like the decemberists and arcade fire. do they sound anything alike? NO. they really are as different as nirvana and bob dylan. would you group nirvana and bob dylan into the same genre? no, you wouldn't, so why would you do that to all the bands on independent labels? genres are based on sound, it has nothing to do with labels, and indie refers ONLY to labels, so.. indie is not genre. got it?

and you do realize that say anything is on a major label, right?

I am always metal, but some days it death and others black, then thrash, etc

hardcore/hard house/dance/rock/punk/goth/grunge/new wave/electro/indie/techno/classical....a lot of things..except jazz...hate the bloody sound of jazz...lol...i can listen to marilyn manson scream his gizzard out but i cant stand jazzzzzzz..lol

Iusually go for Japanese rock and techno......and for everything else, I will try anything, except for Country and rap.

Recently I've been listening to a lot of metalcore.
But normally, I listen to indie.

EDIT: Haha, yes.. Say Anything is a good band. I'm currently loving Silversun Pickups.

I like a little bit of everything, but mostly somewhere along the lines of rock, pop, folk, electronica, etc. =]

rock.

(i label ,my own stuff, like forget the alternative label, metal, emo, screamo, symponich metal, gothic metal, punk rock)

I just call it rock, but thats just me i guess.

Well... I like, no.. LOVE THE 80's!
80's Pop
?Synth pop
?Americana pop
80's Rock
?Hardcore
?Soft
?Underground
?Talkingheadsism (My word for a fusion of funk, rock, pop, Latino, and Indie)
?Funk
Talking Heads are my favorite band ever... except I don't like the album "Speaking in Tongues", but I like the name...

I'm all over the board. I can listen to death metal, then put on a fergie song. What I'm into most is probably hardcore/deathcore stuff.

Sorry Dani, I just listen to what I feel is good, haha!

from heavy metal/prog metal goth metal to trance/progressive/underground/classical music hell yes i'm

i really like post hardcore (check out as cities burn)
post rock/ IDM when im in a mellow mood

Rock'n'roll, bluesy rock, psychedelic/acid rock...Stuff like Janis Joplin, The Doors, etc.

I've really been into Indie recently. I decided to listen to my Indie love Daphne Loves Derby. Which practically inspired me to listen to more and more

I love Say Anything. =]

lately I've been on an 80s College Rock kick (alternative/indie before it was truly popular).......for the most part I'm all over the board with everything from Frank Sinatra to Nine Inch Nails

Jake:.....oh no! Fergie? You can't keep doing this to me........hahaha

Its okay.....I will admit, that I kind of like Clumsy......just a little bit

i'm mostly into harcore/screamo too, but i also like some pop/punk or alternative, i also like a little bit of classic rock (i like ac/dc, aerosmith, and some guns n roses) and some metal

porn groove.

i like 60's rock the stones, the beatles, donovan, simon and garfunkel. Psychedelic rock Hendrix. but my fav is 90's alternative. i like some of todays rock. i like some metal (deftones, tool, perfect circle, Sys of a down).
80's rock sucks

Blues

hehehehe.

INDIE IS a style of music now, lucy. if you look in music industry listings, it's a very specific style of music with very specific characteristics. your definition is a bit dated. it qualifies as a genre inasmuch as singer/songwriter does now, too. :)

My favourite band of all time is Guns N' Roses, they're the only band of 'their kind' that I love.

My favourite genre of music is 'traditional' Gothic Rock. [Not necessarily old though]

Other favourites include; Classical, Deathrock, Heavy Metal, Grunge/Punk/Riot Grrrl, Darkwave and many more..
I like variety =]
