That might be true if it weren't for the fact that Justice was the last good Metallica album. There is a good reason for that... it's the last one that was directly influence by bassist Cliff Burton. RIP Cliff....

What really did them in was being on MTV every five minutes. MTV eats up bands and spits them out.
IMO, The Black Album was horrible. It made the band too commercially friendly and after that album they basically sold out on their fans. Why do you think after the Black album they released all of the mainstream hard rock crap? They lost the thrash roots they had on Kill Em All.
