Who invented the idea of a SONG in music?!

Question: Response to nibblits - it is still there, and Kennet Morris Men go to the Abbey Ruins to do morris dancing and sing it at Sunrise on 1st May every year.

As for who invented it - I don't think any one individual came up with the idea. Songs were probably originally sung without instruments as a natural extension to story telling- when people worked out they could make stories more interesting if they were not just told, but sang, and then tunes would have developed from there. But that is just a guess.

Probably a women! They like to 'be vocal'

A Human Being.

As an historian, I would say that song probably came before musical instruments.

what's to say that the music came along to accompany the song
I do know that one of the oldest songs ever written with music is a song that was written before the abolition of the monasteries at the time of the reformation of the religion in the UK and was found in the ruins of Reading Abbey ,at Reading Berkshire England.
The title of the song being Summer is acummin in. And I think that is the correct spelling, although it is probably thirty or more years since I last saw it , it used to be displayed on a plaque on one of the remaining walls of the Abbey.
