How much can I expect to pay to replace the frets in my guitar?!

Question: I have a multitude of dead spots, and it's pretty inconvenient for many of the songs I'm doing right now. Any ideas on how much it would cost to get new frets installed? It's a $500 guitar, so would it just be more cost-effective to just sell it go and buy a new one?

Thanks.

You may just need to have the frets leveled and re-crowned if they are not too far gone, which is cheaper than a complete re-fret. Everybody charges different prices and it depends on where you are. I live in the south and usually charge $70 for a re-fret or $45 for a level and crown. It would be cheaper than buying a whole new guitar. I've never known of anybody charging more than $90 for a fret job (and that price included a full setup and new nut) Just call around to local shops and ask them how much.

hmmm...i was wondering the same thing, i need one of mine done, i hope you get some good answers

I think it's much better to go and buy a brand new guitar.
For $500 you can definitely buy good new one.

Sell your USED one Ebay. See what you get for it...then use that cash to buy a brand new one. Good luck
