If you want to be a singer don't let ANYTHING hold you back! That shows you don't have the heart for it. Get some confidence. If you can sing in front of people, such as a few friends, judges shouldnt be a problem. Put yourself in front of a mirror. Put up a show for your family and friends. This is a great oppurtunity to make it to the top. It takes so much commitment. You have to know and feel that you have what it takes. Keep your heart and head in singing and the confidence will grow. BELIEVE IN YOURSELF!

If you ever want to be a performer of any kind, you have to get past fear of auditioning. The only way to get past it is to do it. A lot. The more you audition, the more comfortable you'll get doing it. You can also get feedback from the people for whom you audition on how you can improve your auditioning technique.
One little trick I used to use in live performing if I had fears of the audience was to simply pick two spots at the back of the room just above the audience's heads. I would look back and forth at those two spots as though I was looking into someone's eyes and it gave the impression I was making eye contact with the audience... I just pretended they weren't there and it worked really well.
Now after many years of singing in front of groups of all sizes from two or three to 10,000 and more; as well as coming to a deeper understanding of who I am and where the song comes from inside me, I really do look people in the eye and open my heart to them as I sing. It makes a big difference. It's all about being comfortable enough in your skin to be vulnerable and take away the veils behind which you/we/everybody are hiding. Have courage... being open and vulnerable makes you a much better singer, actor, performer.
good luck

what i would do is leave JRP because they charge you a ridiculous amount of money and get a real agent but thats just me
