Hi Snozzberries!

I have the very same Korg Tuner you do, just a few years older model, I'd guess!

You want each stringed tuned dead-center at "0" which should be directly under the arrow point above the zero marking.

You should have a steady green LED light showing as you hit dead center "0". IF the red LED lights show at all, even a quick flicker, that is signifying the string is sharp or flat, the string is still not in tune.

IF, you ever get a string that just won't stay put, after you get it tuned at the steady green light and at zero center; then look at your guitar strings. Are they shiny and new, or kinda look old, blackened and rusty. If they are old and worn-out or the string that won't stay in tune is old and rusty, blackened, that means it's way past due time to get your guitar strings changed!

I usually change all my strings at once when I see this. But, when you're playing a gig and break a string, you just put that guitar down, pick-up you back-up guitar and play the rest of the set with it. Put a new string on your best guitar, during the next break between sets and get it pre-stretched and tuned as fast and good as you can. Save the putting on all new strings, for when you have a week or two before the next gig you have to play!

To go back to your original question, just get each string as close to dead-on center at the "0" setting on your tuner, as you can, which will be when you have the strong steady green light. Then, when all of these things are true, your guitar strings should be real close to in good tune.

That Korg Chromatic 30 is a very good and pretty accurate box, as tuners go! It's a keeper! Good choice!

Glad to see you are still having fun learning all you can about playing guitar! :)

I wish you many, many more years fun and enjoyment playing guitar and music Snozzberries!

Sincerely,
Jazzme 109

i think it can be alittle off.I have a guitar tuner too and sometimes it'll be in the middle or just alittle off and i think thats just find.just try to get it as close as you can to perfect

Ask a pro at a guitar center for help with that sort of thing.

When you tune it doesnt have to be exactly right! it could be a little sharp or flat but if its going wack then i advise you to make some adjustments. It is always better to be on the sharp side then flat!
So happy tuning :)

You want it to be dead centre.

If you want your guitar to play in tune all the way up the neck, play a harmonic at the 12th fret and see if it's still in tune there.

Have a look at the link.
