How many people agree it is harder to play guitar hero if you play guitar?!

Question: I don't think that's the case actually. I think it simply varies from person to person, and people are basing their opinions on them being guitar players who are not good at Guitar Hero, rather than just a person who is not good at Guitar Hero.
It doesn't matter who you are, you have to practice. If you assume you're going to be great because you play the guitar, you're wrong. Do you think ANYONE got good at that game without hours and hours of practice?
I'm not a guitar player, but I am a musician. I do recognize the strengths and flaws in the game's music, as well. I know many guitarists and other musicians who kick *** at the game, as well as many who do not. I also know many people who've never even touched an instrument who are awesome. Personally, MANY of the people I know that play are musicians, but I highly doubt that's always the case.
My best friend's boyfriend is a guitar player, and he agrees they are nothing alike, but he can still play circles around me (and I like to think I'm pretty good). It all just depends on how much time you want to invest in practicing.

I think i might agree i have a freind who shredds guitar but is not so good at guitar hero

I don't know... I have played guitar for years... so why would I want to play guitar hero?

its true, thats why I detest it, its so true!
Im like I can actually play this WTF!!

I sorta agree. I play guitar and guitar hero for me is ok . For my friend he's been playing all sorts of guitars for many years and he seriously can't play guitar hero at all.

def harder to play guitar hero..
especially like songs on expert, they'd be so much easier to play regularly

i agree, i dont know why tho.

i agree!!! i'm pretty good at the game, because i play it a lot, but it drives me absolutley crazy when each note isn't EXACTLY right. then, when i beat my friends i'm forced to hear "you only beat me because you play real guitar!" so not true!! if you play real guitar, you notice every single thing wrong with the game, and it drives you crazy.

I have been playing a real guitar for years now and pretty good at it but when I tried playing guitar hero, I wasn't too good. That's alright as I'd rather be good at playing a real guitar than playing a video game anyday.

i play guitar really good ..................but i cant even do good on medium at guitar hero

I SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!
btw its way harder

/ Excellent point!

...And Guitar Hero will obviously not teach someone how to play the guitar.

It is completely different.

I agree. I play the guitar but i can't play Guitar Hero for crap. I guess if I really tried hard I could be good at both but the two are completely different.

My friend thinks it's actually easier. And this guy who plays bass (not really the same thing I guess...but same concept, right?) in a band I like (Alex Suarez) is pretty fukin good at guitar hero. He plays with fans after shows. But I don't play guitar, so I don't know =)

Yes it is harder. I've played guitar for 15 years and when I tried GH I cant play through the easy songs, even songs I can play flawlessly on guitar.
Its because when you play a note on GH you have to pick it slightly before you would with a real guitar making you miss the note.

Yea, it sure is dude, at least it is for me.
I can't use that little guitar, I get frustrated with it.

Definitley. I think you get better at guitar if you play guitar hero but not the other way around.

I have never played real guitar in my life but im pretty good on Medium on Guitar Hero three, on the PC, which lags a lot, so do you think my chances are that once I play real guitar, it will be easier for meh?

There are definitely songs on guitar hero that are harder than regular guitar (Raining Blood or One for example), but overall, it is easier because you play guitar hero, you learn guitar.

I agree. I've played guitar for almost 20 years now, but was booed off the stage everytime I've played guitar hero (never live though, LOL)

um idk really i am SUPER good at guitar hero and i wanted to learn how to play REAL guitar and its way harder to learn then guitar hero (i think if you can play real guitar you should be able to play guitar hero) and even though a real guitar takes alot of skill and practice its still fun to play guitar hero but THATS JUST ME
