not necessarily, no, you don't need one. it's cool to have, but really, until you learn how to start playing lead parts and shredding, then a whammy bar would come in handy, but until then, it's just another accessory, i mean, if you really want it, go for it, it just might be a while before you can use it properly

It depends. If you would like to be a rythym guitarist and focus on playing chords the whammy bar is not necessary. If you want to play lead guitar solos it may help for some genres. Otherwise if you pass on the whammy and decide you want it later many electronic foot pedals can manipulate the sound of your guitar the same way a whammy bar could.

Prolly not cause if you have one you have to tune your guitar over and over again .but it sounds good

The whammy bar is certainly an advanced piece of equipment that beginners should probably not mess with.

I once tried to pick up a guitar with a whammy bar years ago thinking "It's just a metal bar...how hard can it be to play with it?" but really it's much trickier than you'd think.

I'd suggest starting out with a decently priced regular 6 string, and find your way up. After 6 years of playing, I'm just now thinking about getting a guitar with a whammy bar attached myself.

I think: go for it. It's a bunch of fun to play with, and you'll learn about tuning your instrument frequently. You see, those whammy bars knock the guitar out of tune if used excessively. Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughn both used and abused the whammy bar and they are both considered to be some of the greatest ever. Eddie Van Halen also liked using the whammy bar.
HOWEVER, don't think that it is a 'must have' item, because there are also many great players that would not think of having a whammy bar. The choice is yours, and who are your heroes? Do they have whammy bars?

It depends on the style of music you want to play. If that style has alot of whammy, such as surf, rockabilly, or Eddie Van Halen to name a few different styles, then definitely get one and incorporate it into your playing.

As others have stated, it will knock your guitar out of tune constantly. You could try a Floyd Rose or Kahler style of locking nut and bridge, they stay in tune alittle better.

You can actually bend the strings, but yes I would reccomend a wahmmy bar. Be cautious not to use it too much because it throws the guitar out of tune faster.
