In your opinion, who's the greatest drummer for a rock band ever?!

Question: John Bonham or Neil Peart.

John Bonham is the best drummer in my opinion because he can make anything sound heavy, and he can still make alot out of nothing.

Neil Peart is a very technical drummer. He is very precise and has a wide range of style and he plays it all well. He also writes great lyrics.

John Bonham.... Led Zeppelin.... great drummer... there will never be another

John Bonham from Led Zeppelin. Because of his death, the band quit performing.

John Bonham

John Bonham

The Drummer for Rush!
That man is BAD boi!

I think its Tommy Lee I think you have to use the most entertaining drummer to watch or drum solo to see as the criteria.....in that Tommy took his drum kit to the next level.

Second choice John Bonham........Nobody hit the skins harder or so i hear.

Third choice....Lars Ulrich Fastest drummer in a band that was once at the top of live music......

There is my 2 cents.

john bonham from led zeppelin!

John or Adam

Keith Moon

Ron Bushy of Iron Butterfly, no question.

it's a pretty tough choice, but i will go with john bonham...his overall talent i think is unmatched, and zeppelin was able to accentuate his work in a way that made him even better when that talent was focused into a song...the only person i can think of to even match this description is keith moon, boy it's scary how they parallel each other...both were extremely talented and the best at what they did, and they also led destructive lifestyles and died way too soon

All of these for me :~

Mick Fleetwood
John Bonham
Keith Moon
Mitch Mitchel

John Bonham for overall badass innovation.

Jeff Porcaro for slick, silky high-hat work, mastery of the shuffle, pure class and superb studio master.

Neil Peart for overall mastery.

Jerry Mercer of April Wine for being almost 70 f-ing YEARS OLD and STILL kicking out super BLAST Beats. Check out You tube!

For Sure John Bonham.....

Joey Jordison from Slipknot..... even if you don't like the music...you have to admit, the drumming is out of control!

Chris Pennie - Formerly of The Dillinger Escape Plan, now playing for Coheed and Cambria.

Though he left DEP in a rather questionable manner, and I lost alot of faith in him, I still respect him for his rather insane drumming capabilities. The man is an absolute madman.

Gil Sharone, the new drummer in DEP, is pretty good...but I'd have to see him live before I make a decision as to whether he holds up or not :-P

bob bryar

John Bonham-yes, he's a popular choice but that just means everone agrees hes the best drummer ever. I'm surprised only one person has said Ringo Starr, he's second on my list. After him has gotta be Lars Ulrich.

Danny Carey of Tool

Travis Barker

For me it's Neil Peart hand's down. I also really enjoy Cesar Zuiderwijk from Golden Earring. Also, whoever is the drummer in the 60's instrmental The Horse can really play, too!

It's Neil Peart from rush or that guy from Sum 41.

Dave Lombardo (Slayer)
Love Bonham & Neil buT i STICK TO THIS

Gotta say Max Weinberg
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band

John Keefe

and Rian Dawson

Roger Taylor of Queen fame
Stewart Copeland
Ringo Starr

and of course...Keith, Bonzo and Neil.

Lars Ulrich and Dave Grohl
