modern today hip-hop is nothing like it use to be back in the day (1980's). today's hip-hop has changed from the old school culture, for example: KRS-One, Kurtis Blow, Grandmaster Flash & the Furious Five, etc., etc., etc.
the message and beat is completely different!!!!
some radio staions and dj's still rock the old beats and they sound good. when you get a chance check it out for yourself and you will hear the difference.....

The reason why people say Hip Hop is dead is because we have artists like Soulja Boy,and other one hit wonders who make some song that appeals to the public and people who listen to the classic old Hip Hop don't agree as that music that is made today is Hip Hop.Ultimately Hip Hip is dead because,in my opinion there is no one in the game to truly stand out as being a great singer and one that will be on the scene for a longer time period than most of today's artists.
The reason people say hip hop is dead is because all the guys who made it hip hop is either retired or dead. I mean, you can't compare any of those dudes to people like 2Pac, Dr Dre, Snoop, Biggie, Eazy E, Ice Cube etc. Also, the meaning with-in hip hop is dead also, it used to be about messages, now it's all about i got this many b*tches and a sh!t load of cash... Wheres the meaning in that?
first of all, u dont know rap if u think lil wayne sucks.... he said ' ....when I'm 70 years old I can't hold my s**t within so i s**t on myself, cuz im so sick and tired o s******n on everybody else..." but when people say hip hop is dead, they mean people doing it for pleasure, people just do it to get paid now.
