Question about a Led Zeppelin song?!

Question: Has anybody else jumped to the conclusion that the Zeppelin song title, "D'yer Maker"(you know, "Oh, oh oh oh-oh oh ooh, you don't have to go-oh uh-oh uh-oh..." the reggae number with a beat Bonzo could never quite master) was actually a sort of Cockney phonetic pronunciation of Jamaica(Djer-maker), rather than pronounced "die-ur-maker" and some sort of pagan mystical reference which I figured it was in high school?
Just curious.

i never thought about it but it is an interesting question. that's like my third favorite led song. i'm gonna look into it and let you know if i find anything.

Not sure, but the way Zep lifted titles and copied songs for their albums it wouldn't surprise me.

actually you're right, it is pronounced jamaica. you came to the right conclusion.
