Question about guitar strings!!!?!
Question: I've had the same guitar strings for the longest time and this is the first time I'm changing them on this guitar! (it's an acoustic guitar)
Most of the strings still play really well, but the lowest string pretty much gets out of tune every few times I pluck it.
My friend gave me four new guitar strings and I'm planning on putting them on my guitar.
He gave me Elixir guitar strings, and my problem isn't really how to put them on.
The elixir strings came in packages that don't have the letter of the strings but they have decimal numbers and that kind of confuses me.
The 4 packages say .012 and .024 and .042 and .053.
I'm not sure which string on my guitar goes with which number.
Help please? :/

.42- 5th string
.24-3rd string
.12- 1st string
lower the number, thinner the string
