Who was better at their peak- outkast or tribe?!

Question: Great question! This is something I've pondered many times before. While there may have been groups that people feel are the "best group of all time", these are by far the two most consistent. I would throw the Roots and Gangstarr in there as well, but their catalog is just a tad short. But to answer the question I would have to say Outkast. Let me explain, ATCQ has 3.5 albums considered by the masses to be "classic". Outkast has 4.5. The question asks who was better at their "peak". What is Tribes peak Low End or Midnight, or was Peoples Instinctives? They had a nasty 6 year run that was untouchable. Moving to Kast, the first album they put out is unbelievable especially to be recorded at 17/18 yrs old. This brings the question, where is there peak? Is it Stankonia, Aquemini, Speaker/Love? I guess to interpret my ramblings for you. The bodies of work each group has that surrounds their "peak" time, and the amount of "classic" material would make it seem more evident that Outkast was better.

Tribe was better at their peak. Outkast was better before their peak.

A Tribe Called Quest ran shiet at their peak, The Low End Theory is killer.

A Tribe Called Quest's The Low End Theory was better than Outkast's Aquemini (thier peaks), so I guess A Tribe Called Quest. But overall Outkast is better since they took the creativity of A Tribe Called Quest, and took it to the next level.

tribe.
for me, there's almost no comparison.

Probably Tribe but I still liked Outkast. That seems ages and ages ago now! Haven't listened to one of theirs for years.

I love both, but I'd have to say ATCQ. ATLiens was incredible, but The Low End Theory and Midnight Marauders are some of the best hip hop albums of all time.
But I've got a lot of respect for Outcast for evolving continiously and being so innovative.

Tribe is an outcast better

A Tribe Called Quest. Even past their peak they were still better than OutKast ever was. Beat,Rhymes&Life (1996) was better than anything OutKast put out..........I know I'm going to get blasted for saying this but I just never got into OutKast.

Damn good question

By a slim lead, I'm going with ATCQ. I take Midnight Marauders, People's Instinctive Travels, and the Low End Theory, over Southernplayalistic, ATliens, and Aquemini, but not by a far margin.

Just a personal thing though, since I'm a fan of the Native Tongues/backpacker thing. Both groups are in my top 5.

i like outkast better
