Well, there are some really great lists, so I'll give this a try...
Bob Seger's "Turn The Page" was covered by Metallica
Iron Maiden's "Hallowed be thy Name" was covered by Cradle of Filth
Nirvana's "Heart Shaped Box" was covered by Evanescence
Genesis' "Land of Confusion" was covered by Disturbed
Iron Maiden's "The Ripper" was covered by Mercyful Fate
The Great Society's "Somebody to Love" was covered by Jefferson Airplane (my boyfriend just told me this-- I never knew!)
The Meat Puppets "Lake of Fire" was covered by Nirvana
Ozzy Osbourne's "Mr Crowley" was covered by Cradle of Filth
Iron Maiden's "Fear of the Dark" was covered by Graveworm
Tears for Fears "Shout" was covered by Disturbed
Fleet Wood Mac's "Black Magic Woman" was covered by Santana
Phil Collins "In the air Tonight" was covered by Nonpoint
The Cure's "Lovesong" has been covered by practically every band in history (my personal favorites are Jack off Jill and A Perfect Circle. I know 311 did one as well.)
John Lennons "Imagine" was covered by A Perfect Circle
Pink Floyd's "Another Brick in the Wall" was covered by Korn
Gloria Jones' "Tainted Love" was covered by Marilyn Manson
Pearl Jam's "Better Man" was covered by Shinedown
The Kink's "You Really got Me" was covered by Van Halen
The Divinyl's "I Touch Myself" was covered by Jack off Jill
Eurythimics "Sweet Dreams" was covered by Marilyn Manson
David Bowie's "The Man Who Sold the World" was covered by Nirvana
The Rolling's Stone's "Paint it Black" (once again, tons of bands, my personal favorite is Inkubus Sukubus)
Black Sabbath's "War Pigs" was covered by Faith No More
The Dubliner's "Whiskey in the Jar" was covered by Metallica
Tiny Bradshaw's "Train Kept A Rollin" was covered by Aerosmith (thank you Rock Band)

Okay, I hope I did alright. I personally took all of these off of my playlist, and I tried not to repeat any said above (sorry if I did!) I know some of these songs were covered many times, I gave the artist that I personally know it by. Good luck! I hope these help.
