Help with newfound singing talent?!

Question: One week ago, for fun, I was singing High School Musical songs. Then, my dad who is a proffesional musician, said "Wow, you are really good!". Now I have recorded some songs with our studio and I do not know how to get started. Please list some ways I could get recognized, and I appreciate your help!

Ask your father. He might even let you do a duo with him, depending on the type of music. He's your best shot. Well, I guess we need to know if he actually sings, or if he plays an instrument. But if he does sing, do what I said above. If he doesn't, and he has a band, they obviously record in your studio. If you have ever talked to them, ask them about it.

Some questions: Where did they start? Where would be a good place for a gig? Who should I go to? Do I need a manager? How do I get one?

Go to a little gig somewhere and get a 5 minute part in it and sing your heart out. Hope that someone finds you! If your dad is a pro then he can help you easy!! Good Luck!! :)

If your dad saw the talent in you then listen and learn everything he shows and tells you. He is your best source... Good Luck.

try to get noticed u know? if ur dad's a pro musician, u wont have THAT tough of a time to get going. sing around friends and family get feedback on where you should go for gigs and such.

You need to do it the old fashioned way like the rest of us.

Find some people that play/sing around your age and put a set of of songs together. You could probably start singing in coffee houses or open mikes where they don't serve alcohol (I'm guessing your not 21). Meet and network with other musicians and sing every chance you get.

A great place to look into is community theater. They sometimes put on musicals and pretty much take in everybody. You might have to start with a chorus part but at least you'll be starting.

Best of luck! I've been gigging and recording for 25 years. Once it's in you, it never goes away.
