Question for bassists..?!

Question: I can't seem to get the hang of playing with my fingers instead of a pick. What is the right way to do it? Also, any tips you have are welcome.

thanks.

It's a little different but just take it one finger at a time and just start out strumming the E string, and then ad your middle finger and just strum each finger one after another. I usually rest my wrist on top of the guitar but I have long fingers so that may not help you. Just find somewhere to hold your thumb in place on the guitar. You'll eventually get use to it. Just take it slow and work your way up to complicated rhythms and different strings.

just practice simple finger excersises up and down the strings...you can find lessons on youtube... also use the bridge to rest ur thumb on so that your fingers are used to being in the same place.

I think if you want to play the bass well using your fingers you should tap out rhythms with your picking fingers. Control them. Try to always land on the same finger. Oh yeah, and practice.
