I think to make this a REAL list you guys need to take off people like Common and Lupe..
I LOVE those guys, but who underrates them? Common had one of the best selling albums of the year with "Be" (I think it was the 7th best selling hip hop).
I think to truly be underrated you need to mention artists that are dope, but people underestimate their talent for whatever reason. I think of guys like Pharrell. NO ONE is really checking for him as an emcee, but if you listen to records like "Us Placers" he holder his weight next to Lupe and Kanye. In fact, I think he has the strongest verse on that song.
Underrated by mainstream:
5. Andre 3000 (OutKast; His singing made him famous, but his rapping is severely underrated by mainstream.)
4. Common (Starting to get recognition with Kanye, but never gets big hits)
3. Black Thought (The Roots; Not many have heard of him, but he can rap.)
