Nine in the afternoon? What the..?!
Question: Love the song, know the lyrics, the title, and the band.
What I'm having trouble with is the title's meaning.
Last time I checked, 9 in the afternoon just doesn't exist. That would be evening/night.
Somebody told me it does make sense, you just have to think about it laterally.
But I just thought Answers would be easier.

It's supposed to be kinda unreal. Listen to the part where it says 'back to the room where it's nine in the afternoon'. Maybe someone's daydreaming? They have this whole hippie theme going on now ;D The HC Hybrid they designed was so beautiful~
