(although we also deal with issues MEN could NEVER express or talk about as they don't go through it so it's REFRESHING to hear a woman spit something that has REAL meaning that applies to us all)

If I don't like the music, I change the station. I'm not in a position to pass judgment on hundreds of thousands of women and their music choices. Honestly? I don't "feel" anything when a woman raps about sex, money, cars, and clothes. I don't feel anything when a woman croons about those things in a country and western song or rocks about them in hard rock.
I like my rock'n roll, 'cause it makes me feel good.
It really upsets me. It's degrading enough when men do it, why do women have to join in for purely lucrative gain.

i find it so not unique. i dont know many rappers who dont rap about sex, money, cars, and clothes. some of the very few rappers i like is eminem, mc chris, old-snoop dogg, and dr dre.
I depends how she's doing it. I love to hear any female emcee who's clearly got talent and gets respect in the game. And I love to hear them talk about their independence.
What I don't like so much are the ones who act either like men or hoes to get ahead in the game - MC Lyte and Lauryn Hill have already shown that's not necessary.
Not that I'm saying they can't talk about sex - all musicians make music about stuff that's relevant to them, and sex is relevant to all of us! But there's ways of talking about it. I don't want to hear Khia going on about where she wants to be licked - to me, that's not empowering, it's just embarrassing.
But for the most part, I just love to hear a female emcee with skills.
Today's female rappers are just imitating their male counterparts; I'm fine with a independent female rapping about sex, money, cars, and clothes as along as she saying something and not being vulgar with it.

i think it's a bunch of bullsh!t. these wack @ss rappers like soulja boi and bow wow need to go take a nap. but as Pac used to say, "it aint nothin like the old school". rappers that talk bout that crap be actin like virgins. cuz every song you hear of them, be talkin bout that crap like they wish they could do that. but its good we have female MCs like Trina who can beat some of them dudes at their own game.......

i sometimes feel embarrassed and change the song....i mean i dont mind when they talk about money or cars...but the sex part is what makes me embarassed....
Truthfully, it doesnt bother me...if thats what they want to talk about. hey, no one's stopping them. Plus if they making money, they do it the way they know how.
