Seriously a one-hit wonder. I've said to everyone I know that if he is still about in Jan '09 I will cry. He recently said that at present he is a better mc (yea, he regards himself an mc) than ANYONE else. He actually said, "at the moment I'm hotter than Jay-z, lil wayne, kanye west...". I mean...what?!! Are you serious? You think people would pay to see you Crank dat ******* soulja boy for 60 minutes rather than see Jay or Kanye perform songs that are literally part of hiphop history?! I'm only 20 so I'm not exactly an old-head, but I know the difference between a "through the wire" or "can't knock the hustle" and a "crank dat". Different league! He is less of a hiphop god than Chingy. Sorry about this - I've just had enough of this clown! I mean getting money is one thing (and I can just about respect that) but placing yourself above hiphops elite like that is just...wrong!
yeah the lyrics are kinda lame, but he has catchy beats and dances so it works. i guess he is not a one hit wonder b/c he has had several songs out. and he is doing better than a lot of other young recording artists, so i would venture to say he's doing pretty well for himself.

Trust me, he's just another One hit Wonder from the south. Artists who songs center around dance steps dont really last long. Great Example, DJ Unk. His beats arent all that catchy either. Once the girls get over him, he will be done with. Another thing is, every song on his CD has been put out before. He just recycled them and switched the beats for them from previous underground songs he did. He wont last long.

False i dont agree i like soulja boys music a lot of people take his music wrongly. All though some of his songs be corny but he is just young trying to have fun people take his songs to seriously thinkin they about sex. I agree his lyrics arent that good be he just starting off he will get better he already his a few hits under his belt ecspecially at teen parties i mean i been heard half of his songs shootout i heard that two years ago.
One hit wonder? Please... He shouldn't have even made it that far. It's a shame what hip-hop has come to now. There are still a few good artists holding on, but for the most part no one cares about the real anymore. It's all about catchy hooks and ringtones. It's all for show now.
