This is a hard question because George Jones has done so many hits..My favorite would probably be "whose gonna fill their shoes" this song was co written by Max D. Barnes who unfortunately passed away a couple of weeks ago January 11) from pneumonia..he was only 67, but he was responsible for over 5oo country songs including "chiseled in stone"(Vern Gosdin) that he wrote after his 1st son was killed in an auto accident..and "look at us" that he co wrote with Vince Gill. he tried for years to make it as a recording artist but his song writing is where his fame came from...he was inducted into the nashville songwriters hall of fame in 1992.country music lost a star when he died. so i wonder whose gonna fill "his" shoes. thank you for your question..heres a star
