For my 70's and 80' babies.. was it just me or did?!

Question: was it just me... or when you were a kid... did you used to pop your favorite tape in your radio... and argue with the people in your crew... or your cousins.. or your siblings about who was going to be the emcee "this time".. then have to rewind the tape and start over because you were arguing through the beginning??

HIP HOP STAND UP

HAHAHAHAHA WOW!!!

The argument we had was "who was going first, everybody wanted to be first....
What was so funny , when you were recording your tape, there was the white strip first, b4 it turned brown. We knew that white strip was 5 seconds long b4 the actual recording started. Somebody would look through the tape deck door and "point' to the person that was going first. That was to let them know that "Recording Officially Started". That hallway was our studio LOL... If they messed up and wanted to do it again that always started another argument.....

Yes, those were the days and only can we bring them back....

HIP HOP KEEP STANDING

YES! ha ha. Rocking our baggy adidas' sweat suits and us girls in our jelly sandels thinkin we were fresh!

(Rican Princess: how bout when you had to rewind it yourself with your finger to pull the tape back in? lol.. annoyingest sh!t in the world!)

How about when your tape insides come out and its all jacked up so you put your tape back in the deck but don't close it all the way just a little and let the tape stuff (as I like to call it) hang out the deck and press rewind button but don't press it down til it locks just hold it down alittle and it rewinds the stuff right back into the tape!!

I know I'm not the only one who did that!!

LOL... Yep, one that comes to my mind was Vanity 6 (I know this is not Hip Hop), but me and my 2 girl cousins always fought over who was going to be Vanity (I always won that war :). But yeah through all the bickering, you would have to rewind it back, which seem like it took forever to do. And yeah I agree with Rican Princess, if the tape started coming out, you were screwed. You had to stick your pinky in the little holes to try and wind it back up and pray it that it didn't tear, cause then you would have to spend another 7.99 for a new cassette. LOL. I love oldschool, but cassettes are one thing I don't ever want to bring back. I was sooooo happy when CD's came out, even though the first ones did not have very good sound quality, since they weren't digitally mastered yet. But anything is better than a cassette.
