Everyone makes them. DJ's only use vinyl. You just have to go to a real music shop. Not Sam Goody or Wal-Mart. Google music shops in your area and call to see if they carry vinyl.

They do! My friend just bought some--Modest Mouse and The Decemberists. I know that MCR has released some vinyls as well (I've seen them on sale). You can get these at record stores or places like Newbury Comics.
They aren't too expensive, about $15.

Edit: $15 for brand new ones. Like others have said, some used ones run for about $1, but be sure to check for scratches and such. Used ones can also be expensive, but it depends on the band & print.

I heard The White Stripes sold almost as many vinyl copies of "Icky Thump" as they did CD's this year.

Go to any thrift store or yard sale. You can get them really cheap. I bought a few for less than a dollar a few weeks ago at a flea market.

Some artist still press vinyl, although it is not widespread. It is not to difficult to find a record store in a major metropolis. I usually go to Electric Chair in Huntington Beach, CA to quell my vinyl fix.

Stores like Newbury Comics (as previously mentioned) in MA and Vintage Vinyl (www.vvinyl.com) carry vinyl. You can also get them as imports if you look around the internet hard enough, amazon.com sometimes has them as well. There's always ebay too.

Virgin record store its really good it has lots of vinyl discs

yes, some releases are still issued on vinyl. You'll have to search your area to find dealers that carry them.

K.T. Tunstall new album was released in CD & Vinyl.

Some current artists insisted on having vinyl releases of their singles and albums, as well as on CD.
There are lots of older albums available in charity shops, and at car boot sales, and they are usually really cheap.

They sell Vinyl at Amoeba music in
Hollywood, Ca. That place is hughe!! It's like the
Virgin Mega Store of USED & new Vinyl, Cds, and DVDs, etc.

or online

www.amoebamusic.com

They're dirt cheap...some USED Vinyl Lps are like $1 each.
Good luck

Yes... a lot of mastering engineers overmaster digital CDs with lots of digital clipping... and since some people absolutely can't handle the sound of digital clipping, there is still a demand for vinyl.
