Ok, sorry if this is cheating, but like So sincerious said, she asked this question already, so I've just copied and pasted my answer here -

don't know about specific artists, but my daughter's 7 and I don't let her listen to lyrics that have a lot of sex and violence in them.
I'm not overly keen on her listening to too much swearing either, but at least with that, she knows what swearing is and that she's not allowed to do it, regardless of what she hears.
It's just with some content, I don't think a 7 year old should have to have knowledge about some of these things.
I wouldn't really let her listen to NWA, Biggie, Eminem, stuff like that.
But I do encourage her to listen to artists like Lauryn Hill and I also think Will Smith is a pretty good introduction to hip hop for kids.

Eminem

too much bigotry and hatred.

nothing, i'll let them listen to anything, but afroman is known for offensive music, but he is a great rapper

my answer is too long to give you right now. so i'll just give you a star instead..

If I was a parent, I would let the kid listen to watever he likes.
probably not those hard metal, goth satan artists.

as a strict parent, I would not allow my children to listen to anything with cursing, disrespect, sexual content,...so i guess they won't have a radio or cd's lol! Music has gotten a little out of hand I think, and I am only 26, but I can tell a big difference from when I got out of high school.

I intend to let my little girl listen to whatever she wants to, simply because my parents afforded me that same freedom as a kid, never censoring my musical purchases. Of course, if she's listening to something and it's crappy, I'll probably tell her, "Hey, that sucks."

I didn't read her answer, but it's so long it has to be right.
