Try a really great band called STRATA. Ummm..about your emo friend, it is really stupid to think or claim that she was the first one to discover the band. Tell her to get a life and tell her music isn't owned and can't be stolen!!! Music is a timeless expression from ones soul to everyones soul!! :)
I'm a fan of some of the bands you mentioned and I think you might like some My Chemical Romance (I especially recommend their earlier stuff), and Matchbook Romance. A great place to look is on iTunes click under the "Listeners also bought" As far as your friend goes you like the music you like and if your friends like it too you should see that as a good thing.
