Society degrades women as a whole, and I think that plays a part in how hip hop views women.

That is a very good question. But, no. I don't think so, because I think we'd be more, like what you said... mature, no bashing.
I'm sure females did help with the creation of hip hop. Some female Rappers talk about males the same way some male Rappers talk about females.
I think u should re word the question...Because in the begin women played just as much a role in helping create hip hop...as well as black, hispanics and white ppl...lol
But hip hop MUSIC i guess u mean was never really degrading to just women period...Yea here in there they would talk about a ho...but she was just that a ho. It wasnt pertaining to all women.
Now to answer this they way u want it...I dont think so...because of the way society is...its a MAN's world...I mean its kinda hard to explain but I just dont think that women would openly do something in that fashion...Maybe now a days due to women's lib...But if it were back then I dont think so
