Answers: IN OTHER WORDS WOULD U TRY TO MAKE UR CHILDS TASTE IN HIP HOP FIT URS

No. My daughter's very young so she's at that age where she listens to a lot of crappy pop. I explain to her that it's not really my thing, and I play her music that I enjoy so that she's listening to some of that too. But as long as she's appreciating music, then I don't think it's right for me to discourage her.
I always have conversations with her about what she's listening to though - I encourage her to tell me WHY she likes/doesn't like a certain song, and she's got surprisingly intelligent opinions on it for someone so young.
But no, I wouldn't try to make her taste in hip hop fit mine - musical taste is such a personal, individual thing.

no i wouldn't try to change their minds because i wouldn't expect them to have the same taste in who like. if they do, then they do. but i would let them listen to some artists i like, and if after they listened and still didn't like them then that's fine.

As a mother of two girls, as long as the music doesn't degrade them or other individuals, I would not mind either way. I would allow them to listen to whom they want.

My mother does not change my taste in music but she showed me how good old music was. I mean one day she put in a tlc and a donell jones cd and i fell in luv with old school singers and i am 13. Even thoughmy mother knows dat music out here is crap but who is going to be the on telling the men they need to step their game up and stop being pimps. Don't look like any h** yet.

No...i'd hate it but she wouldnt be able to view hip hop music as I have or understand why...I dont think that she really cares about that type of stuff...smh she just not into hip hop like that...lol

I wouldn't try to change it, but I would slip in a few artists that I think they would like.
I bought a Common, Talib Kweli, and a Lupe Fiasco CD for my nephew, and he listens to it all the time. I want to expose him to the music with more meaning. I don't care about what else he listens to, as long as he gets the good stuff too.
