every generation asks that question. I remember when I was a kid, older folks lamenting the fading of Black Sabbath, Peter Frampton, The Who etc.

But I'm the same as you. Music just doesn't do it for me anymore. Occassionally I'll find a song - usually an older one - and start getting into it. Other than that, it's usually news talk radio.

No, but pop music is unfortunately controlled by 14 year old girls and lets face it they have sh*tty taste in just about everything. If this weren't true High School Musical wouldn't be a blockbuster. Look into "underground" and "Indie" music and I'm sure you'll agree that music hasn't died but radio sucks!

The new music is so commercial now, it's getting boring! You are right about the good music being back in the days!

is all you're hearing on mtv? there are SO many good bands out there that you're obviously not listening to.

and seriously... abba?!

If you look at the last 50 years, it's easy to see that the more music became about money and the commercial, the less important talent and actual music making have become. MTV was a good idea, it just backfired really bad! Now music is something seen, not just heard. And, each generation that comes along becomes more and more accepting of "show" over music. I just hope that somewhere down the line, the pendulum swings back.

MUSIC WILL NOT DIE.

THere will always be a type of music, whether it is pop, rap, rock or folk, it always be there. For music to be 'dead', there would have to be no music at all. Then music would finally be finished. Except it's impossible to never have any music. I mean, banging on a table is music, maybe not very good music, but it's music. So music will not die.

It's not dieing, it's not going to die. In the literal sense of the word it will not die.

no but everything pop is going disney...too bubbley
People need talent not just backround singers to make them sound good music will always be here though

Spellcheck, Use it, Love it, Make it yours

And it's not "dying" it just went underground to avoid the toxic fallout known as Justin Timberlake
